Koh Phra Tong is the perfect venue for eco tourism. Diverse natural conditions provide habitats for a variety of flora and fauna, both on land and at sea.

Savannah & Mangrove

The inner part of the island is dominated by savannah, interspersed with trees. This is home to deers, monkeys, wild pigs and numerous bird species including rare horrnbills.

Fringing the inner coasts is dense mangrove forest.

This an immensely important habitat and a good indicator of the quality of the surrounding sea. The mangroves supply a nursery environment for most of the colourful reef fish, which are found around the corals of Koh Pling Yai and Noi off the west coast of the island
