Excellent macro life. You can find a fantastic diversity of beautiful nudibranch, distinctive to the area. Other interesting macro life found at Koh Phra Thong local dive sites are pipefish, seahorses, juvenile octopus and cuttlefishes.

New for 2011/12! Blue Guru diving have discovered a number of offshore dive sites at Koh Phra Thong. The best 2 - Gon Pla Luang (boulder site) & Marion's Reef (coral garden) are now open to intrepid scuba divers looking for 'off the beaten track' diving.

The large boulders at Gon Pla Luang provide shelter for a large variety of fish. Large schools of yellow snapper gather here whilst macro delights can be observed amongst the beautiful sea fans. Marion's reef is a vast field of table corals. Many fish hide there as well as a number of rare nudis scattered across the rubble.

Almost a thousand different species of fish are reported to live within the Surin archipelago. Scuba diving here reveals dive favourites such as leopard sharks, seahorses, ghost pipefish, bumphead parrotfish and cuttlefish. More remarkable types of fish seen here include frogfish, manta rays and the majestic whale shark.

Koh Tachai has a wide range of interesting marine life. In the shallow areas you can see the normal reef favourites enjoying shelter amongst the coral.
The famous Tachai pinnacle attarcts large pelagics such as whale sharks and manta rays. Leopard sharks are regularly seen lazing in the sand.
