The AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course teaches divers, snorkelers & non-divers about the vital role coral reefs play in the marine environment and how these ecosystems are currently threatened.
The course familiarizes participants with the current state of the world's coral reefs and explains how individuals can help protect the living reef from further decline.
The program is a non-diving course conducted over 2-3 hours that contains:
- independent reading
- knowledge development with an experienced PADI instructor
Participants will be more aware about:
- Project AWARE’s efforts to conserve coral reefs
- the importance of coral reefs to marine ecosystems and coastal areas
- coral reef and reef inhabitant biology, association and competition

The course can be completed in 1 day and consists of:

- knowledge review with an experienced PADI instructor
- skills development practising assembly, disassembly & use of oxygen system
First aid with emergency oxygen is especially important in treating decompression illness and near-drowning incidents.
The PADI Emergency Oxygen specialty course will therefore particularly appeal to divers, swimmers, boat captains, lifeguards and parents with children who may be at risk of drowning.

of equipment. It is not an equipment repair course. The course covers:

- common problems with equipment & recommended professional maintenance procedures
- simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment
The course can be completed in 1 day and consists of:
- independent reading
- knowledge development with an experienced PADI instructor
- skills development practising basic care & maintenance procedures
Participants will:
- develop knowledge of the theory, principles & operation of diving equipment
- be able to perform routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures
