The PADI Rescue Diver is an extremely rewarding course emphasizing safety and rescue techniques. The course is 3 days long, combining academic modules with in-water exercises to practice assessing & managing different rescue scenarios, from tired to unconscious divers. The components build upon one another throughout the course so that the final scenarios are complex re-enactments of emergency situations.
EFR: The Emergency First Response course is a 1 day non-diving certification, required to proceed onto the PADI Rescue Diver course. It is an internationally recognized qualification that equips the student with basic first aid techniques, which are of benefit in day-to-day life as well as diving scenarios. As such, the course is also open to non-divers and divers of any level.
A physically demanding course, becoming a Rescue Diver requires a higher level of fitness than preceding courses. However, it is highly rewarding, building confidence in your ability to help yourself & others.
EFR course comes in two sections: “Primary Care” and “Secondary Care”. Primary Care covers life threatening emergency situations and teaches you the skills & knowledge to respond in such events. Secondary Care equips you with the skills & knowledge to assess & handle non-life threatening illnesses & injuries.
Leads to PADI Master Scuba Diver (the highest PADI recreational diving certification) or PADI Divemaster (the first rung of the PADI proffessional diving ladder)
