It is a highly sought after qualification showing that you have attained an expert level of skill & knowledge in the field of scuba diving. Training to be a PADI Divemaster with Blue Guru Diving on Koh Phra Thong will give you the ability to either work in diving or just be a better, safer diver.

The Divemaster course will take up to 1 month to complete with Blue Guru. You’ll be challenged with a blend of exercises, both mental & physical.
Your understanding of diving theory will be brought up to Instructor level. On the knowledge side you will work through the Divemaster DVD, manual, workbook and Encylopedia of Diving. Dive theory means getting your teeth into 8 key topics in preparation for the divemaster exams.You’ll also become familiar with PADI General Standards & Practices within the PADI Instructor Manual.
On the practical side you’ll be thoroughly tested on your diving skills. We’ll review your rescue abilities, stamina skills & 20 key skills from your Open Water course. We’ll also give you an opportunity to map a dive site & get involved with the organization of fun divers. Whilst all this is underway, you’ll also develop your ability to guide divers & assist instructors conducting training dives.
Becoming a PADI Divemaster puts you on the first rung of the professional diving ladder. Divemasters are hired across the world as dive guides and as certified assistants to PADI Instructors.
As a PADI Divemaster you will have an excellent knowledge of dive theory. You will possess superior dive skills and your general diving ability will have moved up a gear. These skills, knowledge, diving experience and emergency training will allow you to safely lead dives wherever you go.
You will be able to get professional dive insurance.
You can now train towards being a PADI Instructor (or Assistant Instructor) - One of the most sought after jobs in the world.

Minimum age: 18
Previous certifications:
Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
Rescue Diver or equivalent
EFR or equivalent within last 2 years
20 logged dives at beginning of the course
(We will give you the opportunity to reach the minimum 60 logged dives for divemaster certification by the end of the course)

PADI Divemaster - take the challenge
The PADI Divemaster course is a life changing experience for everyone who takes it. The transition from recreational diver to PADI professional scuba diver is a significant one.
It involves the acquisition of a great deal of knowledge and the development of all the skills learnt in previous courses to a higher level. It also requires mastery of your rescue skills, the capacity to recognise and prevent problematic situations and an increase in your own diving abilities. Only by refining your expertise in these areas will you be able to become a confident, safe diver who acts as a role model to recreational divers. This is what it means to become a PADI Divemaster.
Do it your way with Blue Guru
Blue Guru Diving on Koh Phra Thong are aware that divers are different. Some people excel in the classroom whilst others can perform skills with surprising ease. Some come into the course with a high level of fitness and others can have hundreds of dives under their belt.
In all cases, Blue Guru acknowledge that each diver has their own set of requirements to reach the desired level of skill to be an excellent PADI Divemaster. This is why Blue Guru is not a "factory" school.
On this basis Blue Guru runs courses from 3 weeks up to a 6 month DM Internship. The numbers are also stricly limited to a maximum of 4 at any one time. This way Blue Guru's instructors can give you the attention you deserve in your quest to become a professional scuba diver.
