The PADI Boat Diver specialty course covers the knowledge and techniques of boat diving, including
- planning, organizing, procedures, techniques, problems & hazards of boat diving
- boat diving etiquette: storage of equipment, conduct & care of the boat
- basic common boat terminology
- local boat diving laws
- overview of emergency/safety equipment needed on-board diving vessels
This course includes:
- independent reading of PADI Boat Diver Specialty manual
- knowledge reviews with experienced PADI instructor
As a diver, you will often be diving from boats.
The PADI Boat Diver specialty course will enable you to do so safely & efficiently.
Blue Guru also offers the opportunity to gain familiarity & confidence in diving from both a hard boat & a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB). Great fun!
You’ll also get to practice using a reel & Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) – a very useful safety skill to learn.

- special equipment -- floats, lines, reels.

- site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects
- techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group
This course includes:
- independent reading of PADI Drift Diver Specialty manual
- knowledge reviews with experienced PADI instructor
- 2 dives, which can be completed in 1 day.

- methods of calculating multilevel dives using electronic Recreational Dive Planner and/or dive computers
- review of decompression sickness theory
- review of emergency decompression procedures
- review of PADI’s S.A.F.E. Diver campaign
- procedures for flying after diving
- guidelines, rules and procedures for multilevel diving with eRDPml and/or diving computers
- care and maintenance of dive computers.
