Local Scuba Diving in Thailand
Genuine local diving in Thailand is a rare occurrence. On Koh Phra Thong we are lucky enough to have interesting local diving in Koh Pling bay. This is very close to the Golden Buddha Beach Resort . Blue Guru Diving. is situated in the north east section of Golden Buddha's grounds in an ideal place to run daily scuba diving trips to these local sites. Multiple local dives are available for as little as 700 Bt (€14) a dive. Blue Guru also conduct a wide range of PADI dive courses here.
Koh Phra Thong local dive sites
There are five local diving locations on Koh Phra Thong.
Four of them are situated around the two Koh Pling islands a short boat ride away from Golden Buddha Beach Resort. The other one can be found directly off the beach.
They are all quite shallow with a maximum depth of around 12m. The tropical water temperature of around 30°C and generally good visibility make this an excellent place to do PADI diving courses or to do some fun dives before heading off to the more challenging sites in the Surin Islands and at Richelieu Rock.

Marine Habitats
This tropical Thai island is fortunate to benefit from diverse & healthy marine habitats. In Golden Buddha Bay there are coral reefs. In Koh Ra Channel there are expanses of seagrass and some of the densest mangrove forest in the country.
